Transport for London invited us to create a poster (alongside 10 other artists and studios) celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Johnston Typeface.
Our poster draws inspiration from the book Writing & Illuminating, & Lettering written by Edward Johnston in 1906. The extract describes how quality is always recognised, despite any ‘practical’ reasons heard in favour of quantity, whilst a timeline made up of 100 dots (including the two gold ones) guides you through the text.
The full series was exhibited at a show named The Language of London at the KK Outlet. Posters are available to buy from the London Transport Museum shop.
